Graffiti 2 Info

Palm's G2 has been dumbed down a bit to remove any options that let you use single-stroke characters like the original Graffiti (G1). This is because the Xerox lawsuit is not that Palm used their character set (they didn't, only one character matches!), but that Xerox allegedly invented the whole concept of single-stroke characters (hmmm).

There are many alternate character strokes in the original Jot and they appear to be included in Palm's G2 as well (as long as they don't replicate the original G1 stroke). The alternate letters and numbers as well as the alternate symbols can be viewed from CIC's website.

The original Jot contained many user-configurable alternate strokes, including the ability to pass through original single-stroke G1 characters. Palm's G2 removes the options for the G1 characters of course, but does include some options. These are the screenshots for the new Graffiti 2 Prefs panel on the Palm. These show exactly what alternate stroke settings are available.
