My work just switched us to Blackberry. They will be taking back the Treo 700ps. Don't like it but it is what it is. I don't want to lose all of the info that I have on my Treo 700P. I have a Tungsten C at home. I want to transfer the info off of the Treo 700P to my Tungsten C. My computer has the software for the Treo 700P on it. I tried to load the Tungsten C software on the same computer so I can sync Tungsten C and get all of the info off of the Treo. I can't get it to work. When I load the new Tungsten software it eliminates all the info. Plus, it can no longer find the information. I delete the Palm software completly from the computer and reload the Treo software and resync the Treo to get all of the info back on the computer.
I know it is confusing especially for someone like me that is not a computer jock. Thanks for the info.
You may find the easiest way to move all of your data would be to 'export' everything out of the Palm Desktop you are using for your 700p and then 'import' that data into the Palm Desktop of your Tungsten. You will want to export the data from each of your tabs (ie, contacts, memos, tasks) separately, and then import each of those files under the corresponding tab.
To export your files:
-Click on the appropriate tab on left (calendar, contacts, tasks, memos, etc...)
-Select File, Export
-Name the file, and make sure you select "All" under 'Range' at the bottom
-Click 'Export'
(do this for each tab)
To import the files:
-Open the Palm Desktop
-Select a tab (calendar, contacts, etc)
-Select File, Import
-Select the file to import
-Press 'Import'
(do this for each tab you exported)
