Motorola to Acquire Good Technology

Motorola, Inc. and Good Technology, Inc. have announced that the companies have signed a definitive agreement under which Motorola will acquire privately held Good Technology, a leader in enterprise mobile computing software and service. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Shaun over at Palm 24/7 has posted an article that he has given up on using a PDA to manage his schedule and tasks and has reverted to using a pen and paper instead. This issue is actually why I recently purchased a Thinkpad X41 Tablet PC.

Palm First Cell Phone Manufacturer to Support Legislation Limiting Driver Use

Palm, Inc. is available to comment on passage of a California State measure, SB 1613 (Simitian), which prohibits automobile drivers from using a wireless phone while operating a vehicle unless the driver is using the device in hands-free mode. Palm was the first, and to date remains the only, major cell phone manufacturer to support the bill.

The Drudge Report has produced a study showing that hands-free cell phone use is not any safer than normal cell phone use while driving. Drivers are still four times more likely to get into an accident.
