Treo650 Phone app failure

I purged some old phone calls and since then the Phone application does not work. SMS still works fine. Pushing the green phone button does nothing. An attempt to answer an incoming phone call crashes the Palm. Is there any way to fix this (e.g. reinstall just the Phone) without erasing and restoring the whole memory?

Is a hard reset. Believe me, I tried everything else! My phone worked fine on a Friday afternoon, then crashed every time someone tried to call, and my green call button only brought up the main screen. Looks from other posts like this is a semi common problem. Make sure your data is backed up and current before doing the hard reset! After I Hot Sync'd again, all my software and data was again intact, and my phone works again. Whew!
